THE WONDERS OF FIBONACCI

The fibonacci sequence is one of the most remarkable and intriguing wonders of the natural world.

Sally has based several of her designs on this fascinating sequence which occurs time and time again in nature. The order goes as follows: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13,21,34,55,89,144 and on to infinity - each number is the sum of the previous 2. The sequence occurs from the smallest microscopic organisms through to the formation and shapes of galaxies. Interesting examples in nature include: Romanesque broccoli, the aloe plant, the pinecone, a chameleon’s tail, the monarch caterpillar, the pangolin, the ammonite (see belt and cufflinks) and many shells (see shell inspired fibonacci earrings).
